Focal point and texture project

 As a group we have worked towards coming up with a design and then creating it to a high standard. Our title was Texture and focal point and for this we considered many things from balls suspended with­in the sculpture to a pyramid with the focal point being the furthest point on the interior.

We all devel­oped a few ideas and then came together to discuss them. Deciding on a pyramid of squares we in­tended to have it hollow so that there could be something on the furthest point inside it as a focal point.

When considering texture, we all agreed on a sharp or rough exterior being the thing that gives our design a little something extra. This design was also designed keeping in mind that it could be turned into furniture of sorts. We decided to make our model out of MDF and acrylic. We understood that these are two very different materials however we felt that this would make it unique and stand out.
